The Green Dragon
Simon Penycott issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the Green Dragon tavern, in Popping's Alley (now Poppins Court).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2257; Obv inscription: SIMON.PENYCOTT.GREEN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A dragon (in field); Rev inscription: IN.POPENG.ALLEY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = S.D.P. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
