Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2269; Obv inscription: ROBART.SARRESON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A postern gate (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.POSTORNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.E.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
The Postern, later Fore Street lay off Finsbury Pavement, in Coleman Street Ward and Cripplegate Ward, in the City of London.
