The Two Pigeons
Matthew Rogerman issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Two Pigeons, in Old Pall Mall, Westminster, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2178; Obv inscription: MATHEW. ROGERMAN. AT. YE. 2 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Two pigeons (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.OLD.PELLMELL.67 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / M.M.R. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
