This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Red Cross, in Little Britain.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1719; Obv inscription: AT.THE.RED.CROSE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.E.P. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: IN.LITEL.BRITTIN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A Maltese cross (in field).
Little Britain lies in Aldersgate Ward and the ward of Farringdon Without, in the City of London.
