The Sun Tavern
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Sun tavern, in High Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1383; Obv inscription: AT.THE.SVN.TAVERN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A sun (in field); Rev inscription: IN.HYE.HOLBORNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A.E.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
