The Bull and Horse Shoe
Thomas Stubbs issued this trade token, worth a half pennny, for his business at the sign of the Horseshoe in Finch Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1035; Obv inscription: THOMAS.STVBS.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bull on a large horseshoe (in field); Rev inscription: FINCH.LANE.1669 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
