The Lion of St Mark
Richard Hallet issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Chick Lane (area now part of Charterhouse Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 611; Obv inscription: RICHARD.HALLET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The lion of St Mark (in field); Rev inscription: IN.CHEK.LANE.1659 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.A.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
