Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; mid-late 15th century
Agnus Dei (Lamb of God)
Part of a devotional badge in the form of the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God). The head (surrounded by a halo) and body of the Lamb have survived, as has part of its staff. Its legs and banner are missing. It was probably not a pilgrim souvenir from a particular shrine but is more likely to have been worn as an aid to devotion.
