The White Bear
William Hearne issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the White Bear in Bride Lane, off Fleet Sreet.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 418; Obv inscription: WILL.HEARNE.AT.YE.WHIT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bear (in field); Rev inscription: IN.BRIDE.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.M.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
