The Blue Bell
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the sign of the Blue Bell in the ward of Aldgate without (area around Aldgate High Street), Aldgate Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 100; Obv inscription: AT.THE.BLEW.BELL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bell (in field); Rev inscription: WITHOVT.ALL.GATE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = C.W (in field, in Roman capitals).
