Richard Caister
Pilgrim badge from the shrine of Richard Caister in Norwich. Richard Caister was the vicar of St Stephen’s in Norwich from 1402-1420. He was a very devout and scholarly man, and after his death his tomb at St Stephen’s became the focus of pilgrimage. This badge depicts Caister preaching from a pulpit. The badge is framed by a scroll shaped like an ‘R’ with an inscription at the base: 'r kast’.
