The March of the Women
Music score and words for the song 'The March of the Women', which was sold for 3d by the Woman's Press. On the back there are printed advertisements for other vocal scores for propogandist songs. This song was composed by Ethel Smyth in 1911. Ethel dedicated the song to the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), which was the main organisation campaigning for women's right to vote at the time. She was imprisoned in Holloway for taking part in suffragette protests. This song sheet is part of a collection of objects relating to the Suffragette Movement given by the Suffragette Fellowship in 1950.
