Toy hen and egg
Mechanical spring action tinplate toy hen and egg. Comprising a lithographed blue/red/yellow hen and a white egg lithographed with red and blue patterns on a plain green base or plinth. As the spring lever on the base is pulled the hen bends over the egg which opens to reveal a lithographed chick. Purchased for one penny (1d) from a London street trader on 21st December 1909.
