SCS83
A colourless glass flask (with yellowish-green tinge). Thick, moderate quality glass with many bubbles, elongated on neck. Iridescence and weathering on all surfaces, decomposition resulting in wide surface cracks. Parts present: complete (rim, neck, body); lower body and base partly rebuilt from sherds (break possibly the result of strain-cracking). Rim broad, flat, in-turned; rough and irregular in formation. Neck bulbous near base, with deep constriction. Body pear-shaped.
Isings form 16 variant.
From an inhumation burial (B4), alongside a glass bath-flask and a 'Thameside Kent' ceramic jar datable to c. 180-250.
