Printed Ephemera — C. 1845
New cries of London
Children's book entitled 'New Cries of London.' Written by J Bishop and published by A K Newman each page refers to a different street trader or 'crier' and includes a colour copperplate engraving captioned with a four line verse. The book is protected by an outer cover of marbled paper the back cover is now missing. On the first page is the owner's handwritten signature 'Jane Clark Coleman' The book that originally described sixteen Street criers has been rebound and some pages are now missing, others have been rebound out of sequence.
