Scales, low pattern deadweight platform scales/weighing machine
This portable low pattern deadweight weighing machine was used in the West India Docks, in Tower Hamlets, to weigh large sacks and bales of cargo. It was manufactured between 1866-1875 by the London scale makers Vandome, Titford & Pawson who were established in Leadenhall Street, around 1679.
