Port & River — 1881-1910
Bench, wine bottle labelling bench & paste board
Work bench used for labeling bottles in the Port of London Authority's Cutler Street warehouses. Wine and port was brought into the London Docks in bulk and then bottled and labeled for company's like Sandemans, in the warehouses. Labels would be placed in the paste covered surface of the vertical board ready to be peeled off and stuck on the bottles.
