Sample jar, cowhage sample
Sample of cowhage imported through the London docks from both the East and West Indies for medicinal use. Cowhage is the down covering from the pods of the mucuna pruriens plant. It is often used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. However, it also known as Cow-itch because of the effect it can have on the skin.
