Sample, loose sample of caraway seed
A sample of caraway seeds imported through the East India Docks in Tower Hamlets, from the East Indies. Although used in the East Indies for thousands of years, Caraway was only introduced to Europe in the 13th century and is mainly used for culinary purposes. It is also used in herbal medicine as an aid to digestion.
