Sherd of jar of a light grey gritty vesicular fabric, with a plain rim and a slight shoulder. Excavated in Crayford in 1936. A 'vesicular' fabric has small holes in the texture, particularly on the exposed surfaces, where tempering agents such as shell or limestone fragments have been leached out by acid in the soil.
