Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of the Roman Republic. The coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome. This coin was minted under the authority of the moneyer, C. Minucius Augurinus, in Rome, Italy, 133-126 BC.
Obv: Head of Roma, facing right, wearing a winged helmet, with an 'X' below her chin. Obv inscription: ROMA. Rev: An Ionic column, surmounted by a standing figure and flanked by two figures in togas, each holding priestly objects. Rev inscription: C AVG. Part of a hoard from the site of Temple House, Queen Victoria Street, City of London, 1958.
