Coin, aureus
A gold aureus coin of Emperor Tiberius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 14-37. The back of the coin possibly depicts Pax, the Roman goddess of peace, or the Empress Livia, the mother of Tiberius. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon, France), AD 14-37.
Obv: Laureate head of Tiberius, facing right. Obv inscription: TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS. Rev: Livia or Pax, seated right, holding a branch in her left hand, and a vertical sceptre in the right. Rev inscription: PONTIF MAXIM.
