Coin, siliqua
A silver siliqua coin of Emperor Valentinian II, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 375-392. The back of the coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome. This coin was minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), AD 388-392.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and diademed bust of Valentinian II, facing right. Obv inscription: DN VALENTINIANVS P F AVG. Rev: Roma, seated left on a cuirass, holding Victory on a globe in her right hand and a reversed, vertical spear in the left. Rev inscription: [VIR]TVS ROMANORVM, TRPS in exergue.
