Coin, nummus AE4
A copper alloy nummus of Magnentius, usurper of the Roman Empire, AD 350-353. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was possibly minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany) or Aquileia, Italy, AD 351-352.
Obv: Bare head of Magnentius, facing right. Obv inscription: DN MAGNENTIVS P F AVG. Rev: Two Victories, standing face to face, holding a wreath between them inscribed VOT V MVL X. Rev inscription: VICTORIAE DD NN AVG ET CAES.
