Coin, nummus AE2
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Maximinus Daia, ruler of the Eastern Roman Empire, AD 308-313. The back of the coin depicts Genius. This coin was minted in Londinium (modern day London), AD 310-312.
Obv: Cuirassed and laureate bust of Maximinus II, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP MAXIMINVS P F AVG. Rev: Genius, standing left, head towered, holding a patera (dish) in his right hand and a cornucopia in the left, a chlamys (cloak) is draped over his shoulder. Rev inscription: GENIO POP ROM / * in field (right), PLN in exergue.
