Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate coin of Emperor Probus, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 276-282. The back of the coin depicts Pax, the Roman goddess of peace. This coin was minted in Siscia (modern day Sisak, Croatia), AD 276-282.
Obv: Cuirassed, radiate and helmeted bust of Probus, facing left, holding a shield and spear. Obv inscription: IMP PROBVS P F AVG. Rev: Pax, standing left, holding an olive branch in her extended right hand and a transverse sceptre in the left. Rev inscription: PAX AVGVSTI, T in field (right), XXI in exergue.
