Drum, tom-tom
A small tribal tom-tom drum: decorated with Kibbo Kift symbols. The tom tom was used on ceremonial occasions to call the assembly together. The movement had a 'Great Tom Tom' but this is one of the smaller versions that all tribes were encouraged to make. In the magazine 'The Nomad' of August 1924 'Eagle Eye' ( Mr Cone of Plumstead) supplies instructions for making similar tom toms. This example formerly belonged to 'Hawthorn', sister of 'Blue Falcon'.
