A copper alloy as coin of Emperor Vespasian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 69-79. The back of the coin depicts Securitas, the Roman goddess of security. This coin was minted in AD 71.
Obv: Laureate head of Vespasian, facing right. Obv inscription: [IMP CAES... VESPASI]AN AVG [COS III]. Rev: Securitas, seated right, holding her right hand to her head and holding a long, vertical sceptre in the left. Rev inscription: [SECVRITAS AVGVSTI], [SC] in exergue.
