Coin, sestertius
A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 161-180. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 164-165.
Obv: Laureate bust of Marcus Aurelius, facing right. Obv inscription: [M AVR]EL ANTONIN[VS AVG ARMENIACVS PM]. Rev: The emperor, in military dress, standing front, head left, raising his right hand and holding a vertical spear in the left, to the left are two military standards, surmounted by a wreath and an eagle, and two more to the right, surmounted by Victory and a wreath. Rev inscription: TR POT XIX IMP II COS III, SC in exergue.
