Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 161-180. The back of the coin depicts Roma, the female personification of Rome. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 170-171.
Obv: Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius, facing right. Obv inscription: M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXV. Rev: Roma, seated left on a cuirass, holding Victory in her extended right hand and a vertical spear in the left, her left foot is set on a helmet. Rev inscription: COS III.
