The case is elaborately enamelled in blue and white, and on the back is a wreath in blue enamel within which is an oval medallion and urn enamelled in blue and white. The case has the maker's mark 'PM'. The watch was made in 1771 by James Tregent, who is recorded in the registers of a Huguenot Church in London.
