The lost rivers of London
The British artist Tracey Bush created a series of artist's books based on the River Thames. This example, bound in grey Japanese paper boards, traces London's lost rivers, the ancient tributaries of the Thames.
The print is embossed on cream Somerset paper and the following rivers are identified: Brent, Duke of Northumberland's River, Crane, Stamford, Brook, Parrs Ditch, Beverley Brook, Wandle, Counters Creek, Westbourne, Falcon, Tyburn, The Effra, The Fleet, Wallbrook, Neckinger, Rotherhithe, Mill Stream, Peck, Deptford Creek, Black Ditch and Hackney Brook.
