A silver denarius coin of Emperor Nerva, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 96-98. The back of the coin depicts Libertas, the Roman goddess of liberty. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 98.
Obv: Laureate head of Nerva, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP NERVA CAE[S AVG G]ERM PM TR P II. Rev: Libertas, standing left, holding a pileus (cap) in her right hand and a transverse sceptre in the left. Rev inscription: IMP II COS IIII PP.
