Hand saw set
This hand saw set forms part of a group of tools contained in a fine early 19th century toolchest. Many of the tools are marked 'W Gray'. The hand saw set has no owner's mark and the maker's name on the blade is illegible. Possibly not part of the original compliment of tools in the chest, it would have been used to set a saw's teeth by bending them to the right angle. The sliding guard can be adjusted and fixed to any point on the blade.
