Sabazius
Fragment of a burnished greyware jar which would also have been decorated with snakes and lizards. This type of vessel has been associated with the cult of Sabazios, a Phrygian mystery god, sometimes identified with Jupiter, Bacchus and Attis as god of vegetation and wildlife.
Found during the excavation of the Temple of Mithras site in 1954.
