Sword, sword handle
A bone handle for a legionary sword, or gladius, complete in length but with half the handle missing. The handle incorporates four ribs, designed to fit comfortably in the hand.
Although some handles of this type are found on long swords, more examples are associated with gladius swords. Found in a 1st-century ditch which may have been military in nature.
