Social History — 1929
Building fragment
This fragment of glazed faience was originally part of the facade of the Firestone tyre factory, on the Great West Road, Brentford. The factory opened in 1929 and was built by the architects Wallis, Gilbert & Partners in an ornate Art Deco style. This and other fragments were recovered after the demolition of the building in 1980.
