Edward Tutet
Copper-engraved billhead and handwritten invoice issued by the coal merchant Edward Tutet, located at the Pigs Key, Bridewell Precinct, near Blackfriars Bridge. The billhead includes an engraving of the tradesman's sign of a trotting pig. Dated 1794 the invoice refers to the supply of coal to Langbourne Ward School. Coal merchants located beside wharves along the River Thames were able to directly receive coal as it was discharged from the colliers.
