John Giles, Button Maker and Gilder
Copper-engraved billhead and handwritten invoice isued by the button maker and gilder John Giles located at he Rose & Crown in Russell Street, Covent Garden. Dated November 10th 1756 the invoice refers to the supply of ivory buttons. The handwritten and printed script are in English round hand. In the top left hand corner is engraved the tradesman's sign of a crowned rose.
