William Frisbe tankard; Joiners' Company tankard
Tin-glazed earthenware mug decorated in clear blue, ochre and yellow on a white glaze with the coat of arms of the Joiners' Company amid entwining floral vines. The mug is inscribed ‘WILLIAM FRISBE/1646’. William Frisby married Elizabeth Lambourne in 1620. He is listed as a joiner in 1638. This mug probably marks his election to a senior position in the Company.
