A Homeless Man Uses a Payphone to Talk to Dr O'Riley, Dr Hickey Surgery, 2020
A homeless man uses the payphone across the street from the Dr Hickey surgery, a drop-in health care service for homeless people in Westminster, to talk to Dr O'Riley. Some people don't return the mobile phones after they've used them, so patients also use the payphone to talk to the doctors when they're short on mobiles. With restaurants and shops closed, and public toilets and charging points cordoned off, the surgery has been a life-line for many during lockdown.
Part of a project by Grey Hutton documenting the founders, volunteers and users of a range of local charities and community organisations during the Covid-19 pandemic.
