Bowl
Part of a decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 37, with ovolo band, made at Lezoux, Central Gaul, by the potter Casurius. Decorated with freestyle design including figure of a bear. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire. See Stanfield & Simpson, pl 135, 39.
