Archaeology — 1670-1730
Bottle
This almost complete globular bodied glass wine bottle dates to the early 1700s. The glass originally would have been a very dark green, but it has deteriorated over time. Such wine bottles were cheap to make and could be used again and again when purchasing wine from a wine merchant. The bottle was found on an archaeological excavation at Church Street, Isleworth, close to Kew Gardens.
