Bird's-Eye View of Kensington Palace and Gardens from above the Serpentine
Francis Donkin Bedford ( 1864-1954) was a book illustrator who studied at both South Kensington and the RA Architectural Schools.Illustrations included works for The Visit to London 1902, Peter and Wendy 1911, A Christmas Carol 1922.
This elevated view of Kensington Palace includes, among the principal buildings, from left to right: the Prince Albert Memorial, Kensington Palace Hotel, St. Mary Abbot's church, Kensington Palace and water tower on Campden Hill. The Royal Borough of Kensington arms surrounded by an ornamental border can be seen at the top in the centre.
